San Leon's West Gdansk well "the most successful vertical well to date" in Poland

Flow test results from the Baltic Basin well San Leon Energy (LON:SLE) fracked in the fourth quarter reveal it as "the main shale gas play in Europe at this time," executive chairman Oisín Fanning tells Proactiveinvestors. It's the most successful vertical well to date in Poland, and the company plans to move on to drill a horizontal well in six weeks' time to prove commerciality. Newly appointed chief operating officer Joel Price reckons the horizontal well should deliver seven-to-thirty times the flow rate of the horizontal well. He also believes that the flow rate from the vertical well is only tapping the top part, with no contribution from the bottom part, which is the primary target and should therefore be the better half of the well.
